Artist Guest of Honour Announced!

Satellite 7 is excited to announce Margaret Walty as artist Guest of Honour. Her work, themed on science fiction, nature and folklore, is well known for its bright colours and exceptional detail. As well as appearing on programme items, Margaret will be displaying pieces in the Art Show with some available for purchase.

2019 British Fantasy Awards

The 2019 British Fantasy Awards were announced on Sunday at this year's Fantasycon (held at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel in Clydebank).

Of particular interest to Satellite members were:-

- the winner for Best Novella was "The Tea Master and the Detective" by Aliette de Bodard;

- the winner of best Non Fiction was "Noise and Sparks" by Ruth E J Booth, published in Shoreline of Infinity;

- Ian Whates was awarded The Karl Edward Wagner Award which is given for "important contribution to the genre or the Society"

Guest Update

Aliette de Bodard recently announced that the final book in the Dominion of
the Fallen
series, The House of Sundering Flames, is now available in a US print edition, in addition to its ebook format (available at all good
online stores). She's also looking forward to the imminent publication of her first short story collection, titled Of Wars, and Memories, and of Starlight, which will be available as a hardback in the UK, and on Kindle in the US.

Aliette will be at the Argyle Street Waterstones in Glasgow on October 24th, for an interview and audience questions about (amongst other things) The House of Sundering Flames.
