About Satellite 7

Hi, and thanks for your interest in Satellite 7.

The motto of the Satellite convention series is Science Fiction, Science Fact, Science Fun. We cover a wide range of topics but with an emphasis on ‘hard’ SF and (space) science. This time we are setting our sights high by adopting as Planet-of-Honour Jupiter – the largest, gassiest and most jovial of them all!

The Noble Gases (aka the convention committee) are already working hard putting together everything needed for an excellent convention. As well as parallel programme streams, we plan to have a small Dealers’ Room and Art Show. The Crowne Plaza hotel has hosted several Satellite Conventions before and so we are confident that The Great Red Spot (fan bar) will have a good range of food and drink and be a convivial place to sit and relax with friends old and new.

We are very excited to welcome our Guests of Honour: multiple Nebula and BSFA award-winning author (and double finalist in the 2019 Hugos) Aliette de Bodard; and celebrated SF, Fantasy, and award-winning Horticultural artist Margaret Walty.
